★★★★★ "The 7mm thermal detects a person at the perimeter fence from 80 metres away - nothing gets close to the facility undetected." - Daniël F., Secunda

Hikvision Bi-Spectrum Thermal Bullet Camera with 7mm Thermal Lens, Fire Detection and 4mm Optical

The Hikvision DS-2TD2628-7/QA is a bi-spectrum thermal bullet camera combining a 7mm thermal sensor with a 4MP 4mm optical camera and fire detection VCA. The longer 7mm thermal focal length delivers significantly greater detection range for perimeter security at large industrial facilities, secure compounds, and critical infrastructure sites - compatible with Hikvision NVR and VMS platforms. Requires PoE or 12VDC/24VAC power.

Why This Camera Stands Out

  • 7mm Thermal Lens for Extended Detection Range - The longer focal length provides greater detection range than shorter thermal lenses - detecting human and vehicle intrusions at greater perimeter distances in complete darkness, fog, and dust.
  • Fire Detection VCA - Continuously monitors for temperature hotspots and early fire indicators, triggering early warning alarms in industrial, fuel, and chemical storage environments.
  • Bi-Spectrum Dual Channel - Thermal detection channel operates in all conditions while the 4MP optical channel provides identification-quality footage for incident documentation and response.

Key Features

  • 7mm thermal lens with fire detection VCA
  • 4MP optical channel with 4mm lens
  • Up to 30m IR illumination on optical channel
  • Fire detection and perimeter intrusion analytics
  • 12VDC / 24VAC / PoE (IEEE 802.3af) power
  • IP67 weatherproof rating
  • Compatible with Hikvision NVR and VMS

Why You'll Love It

Large perimeters need cameras that detect threats before they get close - not when they're already at the fence. The 7mm thermal lens on the DS-2TD2628-7/QA provides the extended detection reach needed for wide-area perimeter protection, combined with fire detection that's always watching for the temperature anomalies that precede industrial fires. Built for sites where the stakes are high.

FAQ

What is the detection range advantage of a 7mm thermal lens versus 3mm?
A longer focal length thermal lens has a narrower field of view but a greater detection range for individual subjects. The 7mm lens is better suited for long perimeter fences and open areas where threats must be detected at greater distances. Choose the 3mm model for wider area coverage at shorter range.

Does this camera work through heavy fog or dust?
Thermal imaging detects heat signatures rather than reflected light, making it largely unaffected by light fog, smoke, dust, and airborne particles that blind standard optical cameras. Very dense fog or smoke can reduce thermal performance, but it will significantly outperform any optical camera in these conditions.

Can the fire detection and intrusion detection run simultaneously?
Yes. Both analytics run in parallel on the thermal channel, generating independent alarm outputs - your monitoring system receives separate alerts for intrusion and fire events. View all FAQs.
