FAQ
Should I use CAT5e or CAT6 connectors on my cable?
Match the connector to the cable. CAT5e connectors on CAT5e cable, CAT6 connectors on CAT6 cable. Using a CAT5e connector on CAT6 cable will limit the channel to CAT5e performance.
Can I use standard connectors or should I use pass-through?
Both work. Standard connectors require cables to be measured precisely. Pass-through connectors (available separately) allow the cable to extend through the tip during insertion, making termination easier and more reliable for inexperienced technicians.
What crimp tool do I need?
A standard RJ45 crimp tool is required - see our RJ45 crimp tool (CX-CRIMPER-RJ45) available separately.
